Cheat Sheet: Digital Quantum Circuits, T11.7 (bonus)
Part of the series Quantum Error Mitigation (Boulder Summer School 2023).
Also published as a tech note; please cite that.
A compact reference section from a longer set of notes on digital quantum circuits, prepared as a bonus for a summer-school course on error mitigation. It lists the standard pictorial circuit elements and the identities that come up constantly when pushing Paulis through Clifford gates.
- Pictorial elements: wires, bundles, controlled gates (on |0> and |1>), swap, measurement in a basis
- Pauli decomposition with phases and basis changes under H and S (e.g. HXH = Z)
- Propagation rules: X travels forward from control to target through a CNOT, Z travels backward
- Relations among CNOT, CZ and controlled-Y, and chains of multiple CNOTs
Summary and key points drafted by a language model from the slides, not yet reviewed by me. The slides are the source.
