Qiskit Metal: Quantum Device Design and Analysis (Q-EDA)

Thomas G. McConkey, Zlatko K. Minev

Research talk · 2022 · QED-C · 30 pages

Sets out what has to be designed on a superconducting chip and the iterative design flow from concept to fabrication. It then explains Qiskit Metal's architecture (QDesign, QComponents as 'super p-cells' with pins, QGeometry, renderers, analyses), the LOM, EPR and LOM 2.0 quantum analyses, and renderers for GDS and other tools, and shows uses in research, education and a commercial foundry.

  • Design targets: frequencies, couplings, Purcell limit, spurious modes
  • Metal architecture: QDesign, QComponents, pins, QGeometry, renderers
  • Quantum analysis via LOM, EPR, and LOM 2.0
  • Renderers and integrations (GDS, Gmsh/Elmer, others) and community adoption

Summary and key points drafted by a language model from the slides, not yet reviewed by me. The slides are the source.
